Ace Combat saga celebrates 25th Anniversary
Bandai Namco celebrates today the 25th Anniversary of Ace Combat series with illustrations, messages, a special video and goods (the original PlayStation game was launched on June 30, 1995 in Japan).Total worldwide shipments and digital sales for the recent Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown have surpassed two million units.
Brand Director Kazutoshi Kono shared a letter with all Ace Combat fans:
“We, PROJECT ACES, have been able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ace Combat series with our fans. When asked ‘Is it safe?’, honestly, I have no choice but to answer ‘No, I should have done more’. Even now, at this moment, many people all over the world should be working hard. The 25th Anniversary of Ace Combat was not just a celebration year for us and everyone. I’m sure that every time we reach this date, I’m a little disappointed, and I think that I wanted to have more fun with the fans.
However, we are people engaged in entertainment work, and the contribution we can make right now is to have people all over the world, including our fans, enjoy and be impressed. It is the reason why we continue to create the unchanging Ace Combat series, regardless of the environment, where we simply aim earnestly.
By the way, I usually do not talk about the future that I do not know what will happen. In fact, almost everything we planned from last year was postponed or canceled. Of course, even in that situation, the staff all made a trial and error, saying, ‘Isn’t there something that fans can enjoy?’, and then suddenly launched ACE COMBAT Channel and tried to distribute content. He has remade the title art so far for smartphones, and managed to use his wisdom and ingenuity.
On this day, I swear by the hard work of the staff, everyone who supports Ace Combat, and the friends who celebrate together. If it is late, we will make it better and deliver it to everyone. What we couldn’t do this year will definitely come true, even if it comes first. And above all, with this 25th anniversary as the passing point, we promise that we will continue to make sincere efforts for our fans every day toward the next anniversary and further development of the Ace Combat series”.
Furthermore, Bandai Namco and PROJECT ACES shared this emotional video commemorating the anniversary of this popular flight video game saga:
